Westrow has continued adding to its ever-evolving property portfolio with the addition of its eighth stylish salon.

Housed in the heart of the affluent shopping area of Street Lane, North Leeds, among a whole host of premium retailers and eateries including the popular restaurant chain San Carlos, the salon adds a touch of luxury to the locality.

Headed up by Westrow Artistic Team Technical Director, Jenny Pelter and Amy Lopez, the colour specialist salon spans two floors, and has undergone extensive refurbishment that has re-configured the former beautician’s to fully complement the brand’s ever-evolving aesthetic.

The duo, who have worked at Westrow for more than 16 years between them, wanted to create a stylish and luxurious salon interior. As a result the salon has taken inspiration from the Georgian era and boasts a whole host of beautiful, bespoke furniture and accessories to ensure clients feel as though they are visiting a home from home. Attention was paid to all elements of the salon design to ensure luxury and comfort was key.

The salon boasts beautiful, handmade silk drum-bell lampshades above each styling station, while gold and crystal chandeliers and diamond cut mirrors add more than a touch of luxe. Period fireplaces are centrally placed along cream and grey walls, which work in line with Westrow’s corporate colours. Cool, contemporary flooring with a walnut finish dramatically sets off the unusually tall ceilings, which are adorned with exquisitely crafted cornices, while featured panelling has been expertly placed on individual walls to add warmth and emphasise the homely feel that the salon emulates.

The salon has two backwash zones housed on the ground floor and first floor, with two backwashes within each zone. These areas are separated from the salon to provide a private and serene, spa-like feel. The hair spa chairs have been specifically chosen with the client in mind, with luxurious leg rests and a massage mode for the ultimate in relaxation. LED lighting in these areas is warmer than the rest of the salon, while soft music allows clients to unwind before they head into the buzz of the salon outside.

Ten styling stations are located in central aisles, with four on the ground floor and six upstairs. Carefully crafted to resemble luxurious dressing tables, frosted cream glass surrounds stainless steel, which dazzles under the cool LED spotlights. The chic cutting area is also home to large sumptuous chairs upholstered in cream fabric and decorated with brass studs, which offers clients some serious wow factor.

The ground floor is also home to the grand reception area and two beautiful bespoke chairs designed by Leeds-based interior designer Taylor-Jones offer a real focal point. Smoky grey glass, high-gloss granite and walnut shelves surrounding the reception desk create a stunning welcome area, which aims to appeal to both existing and new clientele.

“We wanted to create a salon that felt like a beautiful house with classic features, and a simple, luxurious feel”, said Amy. “We have been extremely lucky with the location and feel it is a superb match for the Westrow brand,” continues Jenny. “We are looking forward to welcoming clients into their new hairdressing home.”
